So our bassist was being melodramatic. He didn’t end up leaving…

The past month has consisted of very little practice but tons of karaoke. I’m pretty sure it balances out. We decided to take a writing break but we haven’t really been writing as a whole. School, work, and life plague us at all hours of all days. It’s sad really…but we are determined to have a release relatively soon. If not a full demo then at least a split with another band from the area. We have some in mind.

Choosing a place to record and produce has been a challenge. We’ve all found reasons to hate each others choices so we are essentially getting no where. I mean…it’s simple logic to write as much as possible beforehand right? We are all a little anxious about investing time and money into something, but never really committed to taking that first step. It’s one of our few flaws as human beings. Other than that we are perfect, PERFECT! 

We’re playing a show with Mureau on the 9th (All of the other touring bands bailed because they’re fags schedules or complications or something. It didn’t get cancelled and we are totally still playing it. Plagues of the Armada is playing as well. Scott (guitarist of PotA) and I(vocalist of GS) play League of Legends together pretty often. It will be interesting to yell at him for sucking at guitar instead of sucking at skarner support. Kidding. He’s pretty fucking good at both.

It’s just a sad day today…

I always explain whenever I start to blog that I try and try to keep it frequent. It’s been another long while since the last update. The band has been consistent. Churning out songs every practice and tightening up old ones. We’ve played some great shows over the past few months the kicker being suffokate, upon a burning body, and Bleeding Through.

Hopefully more opportunities and shows arise from these experiences. Every one I’ve talked to from the audience is very positive and fun to interact with. I know they are being nice when they say our band is great, we have our own doubts sometimes…

So, I have been working seven days straight. It’s been killer…this week consisted of. Three seven to 8 hour shifts at Nike, a random back spasm, paying bills, a backyard show, Anamanaguchi, and several other social activities. It’s hard to keep everything in check. However, I’m still excited for this Thursday and Friday. Back to back shows will be sweet.

Halloween was cool, stayed home and watched cartoons. Regular Show special was pretty great. Watch it. 

I have work in 6 hours….

OUR NEXT BIG SHOW!!

GUTTERSHARK will be opening up for the fabulous AGATG Arsonists Get All The Girls!!

Should be a fun one, most of you already know what to expect. Hopefully we’ll have our newest song finished (It’s a good’un) . Which means we may have a set list swap. Rotating old songs out for new ones and vice versa. Nothing is set in stone…

But anyway, come out and have fun. The Annex is becoming the new hot spot for those pseudo famous bands to play. Which means you may see us with bigger bands like this in the future. 

This is our music video for the song Andrew’s Not Invited. The original concept while writing it lyrically was about all of this rapture and end of the worldstuff nonsense. So, instead of feeling like we should embrace our destiny by sitting around and seeing what was going to happen. My perspective was to jump full force into the unknown. Instead of accepting the bastardized fate (I’m pretty positive I’m not getting into heaven.) I would crash or create the biggest party of my life with no consequence involved. Work, school, appointments, all get tossed aside for THIS NIGHT…

The title is about a kid named Andrew Williams. Probably the only person I would openly not want in the party of my life. It’s mostly a joke. He plays himself in the video and is the kid getting thrown out of said party. The ending scene we had to tape about 30 times because he kept looking at the camera and smiling.

Fuck you Andrew, stop telling people we’re cousins… it’s weird.

While writing it in our studio space I asked my long time friend (Jesse Law) for suggestions. With a little convincing, he ended up writing his own vocal part for the song. To be honest it’s probably the most memorable (nasty/grimy/slutty) part. I was very happy with his scene in the music video. It’s eerily natural for him to spit mad rhymes for a line. 

I could go on and on about this, so many people to thank and so many things to bring up. I’ll just leave this with watch the damn video. 

I know no one will see this. It’s been a long fucking time since any action has been up on this tumblr. But In case we had even one fan on here and here only, we’ve been quite busy. Writing new music, playing local shows, made a music video and just trying to get that exposure we definitely desperately want and need. I’ll be on this more often.

It’s been a while. The band has been sort of dead as of late. We’ve all been busy getting our lives together. Mondo making movies, Nathan making sandwiches, Luis making babies, and Zack…Zack being Zack.

Planning shows in March, hopefully with other local bands we like.

Writing new stuff in May or whenever we have time.

For those of you unaware. MvC 3 is coming out within the next two weeks. As a huge fan of this game series, I expect to be extremely disappointed in the end result. Why? Simply because the video game business isn’t what it used to be. I know I’m going to end up paying double what I payed for the game for “new” and “limited characters”. Fans of this series have also waited over ten years for a new release, anything that has to be waited for that long is either going to BLOW YOUR MIND or fizzle out, and I have my money on the fizzled out part.
